Ernie Shavers

The Late Great Earnie Shavers. This is him after beating Ken Norton to win the championship that got him into the Boxing Hall of Fame. This piece is all pencil and about 18x24 in size, drawn on paper, and took about 1200 hours to complete. This is the one he never got to see. Shavers passed away several months ago. He was like a grandfather to me. I loved the time he spent taking me stories and giving me such solid advice about the drawings and life in general.
